I am Claire Normand, a gemstone carver and engraver based in Dublin, Ireland, specializing in intaglios and fine gemstone carving for bespoke jewelry and objets d’art. My craft is deeply rooted in tradition, yet driven by the passion to bring it into the present, to carve narratives that hold meaning for generations to come.

Jewelry has always been a vessel for storytelling, a way to capture emotions, heritage, and personal milestones in a form that transcends time. At the heart of my work is the desire to engrave contemporary stories into gemstones, bridging the ancient art of glyptics with modern craftsmanship.

A Journey Through Time & Craft

Originally from France, my journey into the world of engraving began at the prestigious École Boulle in Paris, where I trained in traditional metal engraving. However, my curiosity for stone and sculpture led me to explore jade carving in China, where I immersed myself in centuries-old techniques passed down through master artisans.

Seeking further mastery, I traveled to New Zealand, apprenticing under skilled stone carvers who refined my understanding of form, depth, and material. Later, I honed my expertise working in high-end gemstone carving studios in Germany, perfecting my ability to transform rare and precious stones into miniature works of art.

Each of these experiences has shaped my approach, where precision meets intuition, and where history meets innovation.
